RIT to offer new bachelor’s degree in AI starting this fall

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Institute of Technology is launching a new bachelor’s degree in artificial intelligence (AI) this fall.

Students in the major will work on hands-on project building and applying AI. They’ll have the opportunity to specialize their studies in areas like agentic AI and robotics.

RIT’s computing college will also launch a minor in AI, open to all RIT majors. The minor includes six courses. Students in the minor will study the following:

  • Supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Machine learning techniques and approaches
  • Applications in natural language processing, computer vision, geospatial computing, cybersecurity, and generative modeling.
