RIT and NY Power Authority introduce faster electric vehicle charging stations

HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA) introduced new electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Henrietta on Wednesday.

Located near Routes 90 and 390, the chargers can power up an EV in as little as 20 minutes, making it easier for drivers to stay on the move.

“Bringing hyperfast charging to the gateway of the Finger Lakes region, this is an incredibly important location for drivers coming across New York, for the people locally here,” said Emily Durham from Electricity America.

Officials say there are currently more than 60 open-access fast charging stations in New York.
