ROCHESTER, N.Y. —A house fire on Oakman Street in Rochester on Saturday morning prompted a swift response from the Rochester Fire Department.
At 10:13 a.m., a 911 call reported a fire inside the residence. Engine 2, based on North Clinton Avenue, arrived at 10:17 a.m. and declared a working fire after an initial investigation.
Firefighters found a small fire in the stairway, which they quickly extinguished. One resident was home and was safely rescued without injury.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said. No firefighters were injured during the response.
