TUCSON, Ariz. — A person has been detained for questioning in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, according to two people familiar with the matter. This development came just hours after the FBI released the first surveillance images from the night of Guthrie’s disappearance.
The video showed a masked person wearing gloves, carrying a backpack, and appearing to hold a gun. Officials have not confirmed if the detained person is the same individual seen in the images.
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared 10 days ago, prompting a desperate search. Savannah Guthrie shared the new surveillance images on social media Tuesday, expressing the family’s belief that Nancy Guthrie is still alive.
