ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police say two people were shot on Newcomb Street, and one of the victims received life-threatening injuries on Friday evening.
Police say they arrived on Newcomb Street, near Rustic Street, after getting a report of someone shot around 6:20 p.m.

When officers got to the scene, they reported finding a Rochester man, 40, who was shot. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for life-threatening injuries, police added.
During the investigation, officers found a second victim, a 26-year-old Rochester man. He left a home at the scene, saying he’d also been shot, police say.
The second victim was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, but for non-life-threatening injuries, and police report that several people are in custody.
As of 9:25 p.m., officers are still on the scene.
