Police: 5 teens arrested after stolen car chase in Greece over the weekend

 

GREECE, N.Y. — Five teenagers are facing charges after a stolen car chase in Greece Sunday.

It all started Sunday afternoon when Greece Police were alerted to a stolen car on Beach Avenue. Police say the car refused to pull over, so officers chased it to Rohr Street in the City of Rochester.

Officers took five teens into custody, all ranging in age from 13 to 17. Three of them were wearing ankle monitors, police say.

All five face the following charges:

  • Criminal possession of stolen property
  • Unauthorized use of a vehicle
  • Obstruction of governmental administration

The 17-year-old, who police say was driving the vehicle, faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle
  • Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs)
  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law)
  • Reckless driving
  • Resisting arrest

The 17 and 14-year-olds were remanded to secure detention. The 13 and 15-year-olds were released to their guardians. The 16-year-old was issued an appearance ticket.
