MENTZ, N.Y. — A 41-year-old man is dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-90 in Cayuga County.
State Police say it happened Monday at around 4:17 a.m. in the Town of Mentz. Investigators say a car heading west crossed the center line, went into the eastbound lane, hit a guard rail, and stopped partially in the right lane on a slight curve in the road.
A tractor-trailer heading east was able to avoid the car, according to State Police, but they say a second tractor-trailer hit the car.
The driver, Robert McFall, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a Florida man, wasn’t hurt.
State Police say the crash is still under investigation.
