ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The race for New York governor is beginning to take shape. Here’s a list of prominent names in this year’s race.
The primary election is set for June 23, with the general election on Nov. 3.
Bruce Blakeman
News10NBC spoke with GOP candidate Bruce Blakeman at Rochester’s Riverside Convention Center ahead of the Conservative Party dinner.
“Nassau County has the lowest poverty rate in the state of New York, so we have prosperity, we have economic development, so we’re creating jobs, and that’s very important to me,” Blakeman said.
Blakeman also discussed his plans to extend his economic strategies to other regions. “Bring it up here to Monroe County, to Rochester, Erie County, Buffalo, and the western part of New York state and bring them jobs and bring them safer communities,” he said.
Governor Kathy Hochul and Adrienne Adams
In other developments, Kathy Hochul introduced her pick for lieutenant governor, Adrienne Adams, at the State Democratic Convention in Syracuse. Adams, a former New York City Council speaker, joins Hochul on an all-women ticket for the first time in New York.

Antonio Delgado
Another top candidate in the governor’s race, Antonio Delgado, selected Buffalo native and Democratic Socialist India Walton as his running mate. If either Walton or Adams wins, they would become the first Black woman to hold the position of lieutenant governor.
