ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Nazareth University has welcomed its 11th president in an inauguration ceremony on Saturday.
President Maureen Finney began her role in July. Before she became president, Finney became the provost in 2022.
“A day like this represents the very best of our community. Thank you to each and every person for your individual and collective talents that have brought so much joy to our campus. Can we give our campus partners a round of applause?” said Finney.
The celebration began with a mass in Nazareth’s Linehan Chapel. After that, the inauguration was held at the Glazer Music Performance Center on the campus. A reception was held afterwards in the Arts Center Upper Lobby.
She’s the first woman physician assistant to lead a U.S. college or university.
