Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester hosts first-ever ‘Yappy Hour’ event for dogs and their owners

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Memorial Art Gallery hosted its first-ever “Yappy Hour” on Friday.

Dog owners and their pets were invited to enjoy outdoor activities and art. Guests brought their furry friends to explore outdoor sculptures, create dog nose prints and draw pet portraits.

“We had so much fun tonight. I think we will probably be doing this again. We saw so many dogs come out with their families. There were activities like nose print-making, and paw print-making, pet portrait decorations, pet photos, all sorts of fun things to do here in the Centennial Sculpture Park,” said Paige Engard, public relations specialist with the Memorial Art Gallery.

People who came out also received a pass to return to the museum. Organizers plan to have more Yappy Hours in the future.
