SPENCERPORT, N.Y. — Several McDonald’s restaurants across the Monroe County area held backpack giveaways to help families prepare for the school year.

The McDonald’s on Nichols Street in Spencerport gave away 100 bags filled with school supplies. Manager Louis Buono said this is the restaurant’s second year doing the giveaway, and they plan to come back for a third.
“It’s truly our chance to give back to the community that supports us every day,” Buono said.
“We’re so grateful to be part of these communities because without them then we wouldn’t be able to be in business ourselves, so thank you again,” Buono said.
With school supply prices on the rise, News10NBC’s next “Big Give” aims to help students. The News10NBC team will be at ESL Ballpark on Aug. 21 to collect supplies to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
