ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The man who shot and nearly killed another man in the city last summer has been sentenced to prison.
Jahmel Jackson will serve 16 years to life in prison for the shooting on Dayton Street in June of last year.

Jackson shot the man after an argument involving a woman. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but survived.
Jackson was convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
