ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 38-year-old man has been found guilty of murder for shooting someone in the head back in Sept. 2023.
On Sept. 30, 2023, prosecutors say Rochester Police officers found 31-year-old Vernal Rose dead with a gunshot wound to the head on North Goodman Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Rochester.
Prosecutors say Eric Leslie was talking with Rose when he pulled out a pistol and shot Rose in the head and then left the scene in his car.
Officers arrested Leslie in the car connected to the murder, and also had two illegally possessed handguns, according to prosecutors.
Leslie was convicted of murder in the second degree and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He is set to be sentenced in December.
