ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man is charged with murder in Friday’s deadly stabbing of a 41-year-old on Fair Place off North Goodman Street.
Rochester Police were called to Fair Place just before 11 p.m. and found Antonio DeJesus Rodriguez-Cervantes stabbed at least once. He died shortly after arriving at Strong Memorial Hospital.
RPD says an argument between the victim and his associate, 34-year-old Oscar Loyola-Ledesma, led to the stabbing. According to police, the two were hanging out on Fair Place with several people that night.
A SWAT team arrested Loyola-Ledesma on Sunday afternoon, saying they found him hiding in a bathroom on Child Street. He’s expected to be arraigned on Tuesday morning in Rochester City Court on his second-degree murder charge.
In addition, the Department of Homeland filed an immigration detainer against Loyola-Ledesma, a request to hold a person so DHS has time to assume custody. We’re working to learn more.
