Man charged in three different Rochester sexual assault cases, including rape

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man, 29, is facing charges in three different sexual assault cases that happened in Rochester in October and November.

U.S. Marshals arrested Ronnie Brooks Jr. on Friday. Rochester Police say he raped a 16-year-old boy on St. Paul Street near the Genesee River on Oct. 29.

Police say that less than a month later, on Nov. 20, Brooks Jr. was following a 21-year-old woman he didn’t know starting from the RTS Transit Center. He’s accused of inappropriately touching her on North Clinton Avenue.

According to police, Brooks Jr. also sexually abused and attempted to rape a 15-year-old girl on St. Paul Street on Nov. 27. Police say he grabbed the girl, inappropriately touched her, and pinned her to the ground as she tried to get away, at which point he sexually assaulted her again.

RPD says its Major Crimes Special Victims Unit is looking into whether there are other victims. Police say Brooks Jr. has at least three prior felony and three prior misdemeanor convictions.
