Man arrested after police say they found loaded gun and drugs during traffic stop

GREECE, N.Y. — A 34-year-old man is facing charges following a traffic stop on Long Pond Road in Greece.

Greece Police say at around 3 a.m. Monday, they responded to a place on Brush Hollow Road for a report of an incident. They say before they got there, the suspect, Daniel Raforth, had left the area in a car.

Shortly thereafter, police say they saw the car on Long Pond Road and initiated a traffic stop. Raforth was taken into custody without incident.

Police say they recovered a loaded Taurus .40 caliber handgun from the car, and that Raforth doesn’t have a valid pistol permit. They also say they found small quantities of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, along with an airsoft rifle and multiple electronic devices.

Raforth is charged with aggravated harassment, stalking, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was brought to Greece Police headquarters for processing and later remanded to the county jail.
