ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in connection to a shooting on Savannah Street that happened on Sept. 3.

The shooting happened a few hundred feet from the Strong National Museum of Play, which was closed at the time.
Police responded to the area of Savannah Street and Adventure Place on Sept. 3 and found a 53-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was brought to the hospital for treatment of injuries deemed not life threatening.
After investigations done by detectives, police say the victim and Tyrone Newsome had gotten into a dispute. On the night of the shooting, police say Newsome pulled up behind him in a car, left it, and then shot the victim before fleeing.
Police say the United States Marshals Task Force found Newsome in the area of Manhattan Square Drive Tuesday and took him into custody.
Newsome is charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
