Locals continue to show support for Brighton native Ernie Clement during World Series

BRIGHTON, N.Y. — As the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, the Brighton community continues to show support for Brighton native Ernie Clement.

Game one of the World Series took place Friday night, with the Blue Jays beating the Dodgers 11-4.

Before the game Friday, Clement sent a message to the Brighton Central School District, who wore Blue Jays gear to school to show support.

“You’re all the best, I love everybody back home and the support just means the world to me,” said Clement in the video posted to social media.

Ahead of the World Series, Superintendent Kevin McGowan, and one of Clement’s former teachers, Sue Martin, shared their excitement in a social media post.
