ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The local chapter of the National Organization for Women hosted an expo on Sunday afternoon to celebrate women-owned businesses and address economic issues facing women.
The event, called “Women Mean Business”, took place at ARTISANworks on Blossom Road on International Women’s Day. It included a panel discussion on pay equity, negotiating pay, and advice on starting a business.
“I think it’s very important, especially right now, where there are all these inequalities and things going on. It’s a pivotal time to really form a community and advocate for what’s right and equality,” said Nadia Schaubroeck, chapter president of Rochester’s National Organization for Women.
The vendor expo featured 25 local businesses, focusing on the importance of women working together and supporting one another.
