ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Put your walking shoes on. A local nonprofit is hosting a community stroll in an effort to promote mental wellness and raise funds.
Compeer Rochester is welcoming the community for a one-mile stroll through the East End and Neighborhood of Play on November 2. It starts at 11 a.m. at Compeer Rochester on Monroe Avenue and is called “The Walk to End Lonliness.”
“When Rochester walks together, we show neighbors of every age that they are seen and supported,” said Sara Passamonte, President and CEO of Compeer Rochester. “The Compeer Mile helps us reduce isolation and grow lasting friendships that change lives.”
Compeer says all ages and abilities are welcome. The route is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Online registration is $25, but there is an on-site registration option for $30. Registration is free for volunteers.
