ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Carolyn “Danny” Siplin, 33, has been missing since Dec. 23, just two days before Christmas. Her family is desperately searching for answers and holding onto hope that she will be found safely.

Siplin drives her mom, Tracey Riley, to work every morning at 5 a.m. but on the morning of Dec. 23, Riley woke up and Siplin was gone. Riley immediately called her daughter who said she was coming right back.

“She said, ‘Ma, I just wanted to see the snow, you know I love the snow. I just wanted to take a ride. She said, ‘I’m coming across the bridge, I’ll be there in a little while,’ she never came,” Riley said.

Riley kept calling over and over again but Siplin didn’t answer. About a half hour later, an officer with the Rochester Police Department answered the phone.

“And I said, ‘Oh my God, is my baby okay?’ and he told me it was just the truck there and she wasn’t there,” Riley said.

Siplin’s car was found running on Upper Falls Bridge near St. Paul with the doors closed and her wallet inside.

Riley expressed concern for her daughter’s well-being.

“I think my daughter may have had a mental breakdown, she had been going through some things,” Riley said. “When someone is not in their right state of mind, you just never know, you know what I’m saying, you just never know what could happen.”

Danny’s family described her as having a big heart and being smart. She has worked in construction for 15 years and attended Freddy Thomas High School. They are unaware of anyone who would want to harm her, and going missing is out of character for her.

The family is holding onto faith that she will be found safely.

“Holding on to faith and being close with the family, the support is everything, my faith is great,” Riley said.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating the case. Anyone with information on Carolyn Siplin’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
