ROCHESTER, N.Y. — As local lakeshore communities brace for the possibility of flooding, new data from the International Joint Commission warns that Lake Ontario could pass the flood stage by mid-May.
Water levels could be less than a quarter of an inch from the flood stage by next Friday, according to IJC, a U.S. and Canadian partnership that tracks water levels in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. Lake Ontario could pass the flood stage by Friday, May 15.
