ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Amerks will honor local police officers, firefighters, medical workers, military members, and other “hometown heroes” during Friday’s game at the Blue Cross Arena.
“Hometown Heroes Night” will honor local first responders and frontline workers. It starts with an exhibition hockey game at 4 p.m. between members of the Rochester Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Jail Bureau.
After that, the Amerks will take on the Toronto Marlies. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. First responders, frontline workers, and military personnel can get a free ticket to the game. In addition, their family and friends can get up to 25% off the box office rate. You can check if you’re eligible here and enter the passcode “HERO”.
To honor first responders, current and former Amerks players have been delivering lunch to local law enforcement agencies, firehouses, hospitals, and call centers in the weeks leading up to the game.
