Home on County Road 33 deemed total loss after three-alarm fire

SOUTH BRISTOL, N.Y. — A house on County Road 33 has been deemed a total loss after a three-alarm fire Tuesday night.

The Richmond Volunteer Fire Department says it happened at around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. The department says one adult and dog were home at the time of the fire but got out safely. No injuries were reported.

According to the fire department, the extreme heat and significant manpower required to safely operate while allowing firefighters to rotate resulted in a third alarm. The department says the additional crews made sure crews could take appropriate breaks.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
