GREECE, N.Y. — Bill Reilich is stepping down as Greece Town Supervisor after more than a decade in office. He reflected on his 12 years of service and expressed confidence in leaving the town in a better state than when he started.
News10NBC’s Kristi Blake sat down one-on-one with Reilich ahead of his departure from office.
“Not only the amenities, much of the campus here at town hall was a swamp land. It’s now pickleball courts,” Reilich said. “We had the first, exclusive pickleball courts in the county built here.”
Reilich highlighted the construction of a new Olympic-sized ice skating rink, renovations to the library, and updates to the police headquarters as some of his key achievements. He also took pride in holding or cutting taxes every year during his time in office.
When asked about allegations he has faced, Reilich said, “We didn’t do anything wrong in all those elements. That’s why there’s a number of lawsuits right now that we’re not settling on. We’re saying we’re going to win this.”
Several lawsuits against the town have been dismissed, including those alleging Reilich forced a town employee to do unpaid work and a former police sergeant’s misconduct claims. Reilich believes the town board and incoming supervisor Jeff McCann will continue to contest any current lawsuits.

Reilich said it’s going to be bittersweet leaving office. “I enjoyed it. I had tremendous staff, you know, nobody can do it alone.”
He tells us he has no immediate plans for a new job but may consider future opportunities to stay active.
Term limits prevented Bill Reilich from seeking a fourth term this year. Jeff McCann, the first Democrat to win the position in more than a century, will succeed Reilich. Reilich described McCann as a moderate Democrat with a conservative endorsement in the election and advised him to listen to the people’s needs.
