Game preview: Buffalo Bills to host final ever regular season game at Highmark Stadium

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Buffalo Bills are set to play their final regular season home game at the current Highmark Stadium, with the New York Jets coming to town.

On Wednesday, head coach Sean McDermott declined to comment on whether or not Josh Allen and other players would suit up to play. The Bills are currently the 7-seed in the AFC and can improve to the 5-seed, but no matter what, will have to start their playoffs journey on the road.

Allen also didn’t practice Wednesday due to a foot injury he’s been dealing with over the last few weeks. He hasn’t missed any games, and McDermott did say his quarterback is doing better at this point this week than he was during the same time frame the week prior.

Fans attending the game can expect a fun time at Highmark Stadium with plenty of ways to remember the team. Click here for more information on that.

Player to watch: James Cook

As of Wednesday, nothing has been said on James Cook’s status, but if he does play week 18, a lot will be at stake. Cook currently leads the NFL in rushing yards but is neck and neck with Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry. If he plays some time on Sunday, he could rush for enough to claim the rushing title, which is a huge individual milestone.

However, Cook got injured in week 17, and although he came back, the Bills could opt to treat it on the safe side and make sure he’s close or at 100% for Wild Card Weekend.

Either way, it’s been a season to remember for Buffalo’s top running back.
