Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez stabbed in Indianapolis

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports broadcaster Mark Sanchez, 38, has been hospitalized after he was stabbed in Indianapolis overnight Saturday.

According to ESPN, Fox Sports said in a statement that Sanchez is in the hospital and recovering in stable condition. They also said they are “deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support,” sending their thoughts and prayers to him.

Sanchez was drafted by the New York Jets in 2009 and was picked fifth overall. During his first two seasons, he helped the Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances.

He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders, playing eight seasons in the NFL.

Sanchez was set to be part of the broadcast crew for the Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts game Sunday, but will no longer work it.
