First Alert Weather: Windy and warm Friday with a round of weekend rain

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Much milder start to the day with temps well into the 50s Friday morning. A shower will move through by 8-9AM and then windy and warm weather arrives as temps soar into the low 70s midday. Windy weather develops with gusts 30-40mph likely. We may see a pop-up shower and also a possible thunderstorm this afternoon. Areas just east and south of Rochester around 1-3PM may get a quick downpour. Any showers will clear for nice weather later this afternoon into tonight, but it will turn colder overnight.

Looking ahead to the weekend our Threat Tracker is Green but we do need to keep a close eye on later Saturday night for some heavier thunderstorms that may develop. Weather Saturday starts cloudy and cool with a little drizzle into early afternoon. Warmer weather arrives later in the day as temps surge into the 60s and low 70s. Very warm Saturday night with rain arriving towards midnight. Rain will last into Sunday morning. For Easter the rain looks to exit by 9AM with colder and drier conditions into the afternoon with temps staying in the 40s.

Much colder early next week with temps into the 30s and a few snow showers for Tuesday. Milder air returns later next week with more typical early spring ups and downs into the following weekend.
