First Alert Weather: Cooler than yesterday, but still fantastic conditions for outdoor activities

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Another chilly start to the day, and another comfortable afternoon, though it will be a bit cooler. Highs will range from the upper 50s to the low 60s, and a northerly breeze will make it feel a tad cooler, so have a sweater handy unless you plan to be moving around a lot.

Chilly once again tonight with lows in the low to upper 30s with patchy frost forming south of I90. Tomorrow is essentially a repeat of today with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 50s, then Thursday gets a bit cloudy with a SMALL chance of spotty showers to the south. If we don’t see any rain, and continue to stay dry through Sunday, then we’ll break the record for driest stretch so far this year.

This weekend will have fantastic weather for outdoor fall activities. Fall foliage should be peaking in the Finger Lakes during this time, so couldn’t ask for better timing. Letchworth, Watkins Glen, etc. are all likely to see plenty of visitors, so plan accordingly! Foliage peaks in the lakeshore counties next week.

Next best chance of rain doesn’t look to arrive until Monday night into Tuesday morning, but not looking like a big impact. Temperatures are expected to trend slightly above normal with slightly below normal precip over the next 8-14 days, which includes Halloween. Too early for a Halloween forecast specifically, so stay tuned!

Enjoy the fair weather!
