ROCHESTER, N.Y. – An approaching cold front will bring widespread much needed rain this morning, then there will be a bit of a dry break until the early afternoon when pop up scattered thundershowers develop. These are not expected to be severe, so we’ll stay Green on the Threat Tracker today. The vast majority of areas will see a few tenths to 0.75″ of rain; wherever the most consistent heavy rainfalls occur could potentially see 1-2″, but chances are low. This rain will help us get closer to where we should be in terms of monthly rainfall totals. High temperatures today will be in the low 80s, and expect large scale clearing and dropping dew points once the thundershowers move out this evening at the latest.

Tomorrow the dry, cooler air takes over and it will result in a beautiful day! We’ll start off cool in the upper 50s, and get up to a very comfortable 75 degrees with low humidity. Skies will be mostly sunny, but winds will be out of the northeast with strongest gusts up to 20 MPH which will be noticeable but not have that big an impact on any outdoor plans (except boating on Lake Ontario).
Tuesday and Wednesday the temperature balances out to seasonably warm levels, but an approaching low pressure system from the west will bring some scattered showers and thunder Tuesday PM through Wednesday.
