ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our weather for the remainder of the work week will stay fairly quiet, but we’ll be dodging a few occasional showers and have to deal with breezy afternoons. An upper level low is spinning just to our north, which will allow a few minor disturbances to swing through, producing a few a few pockets of showers. The first will arrive into early Wednesday night. Otherwise, just a partly cloudy sky. Thursday morning may also start off with a brief shower, then a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky for the majority of the day. Another brief shower may pass through during the afternoon hours. Wind gusts will remain elevated, about 15-20 mph out of the west/southwest. Temperatures on Thursday will hold in the mid 60s.

Friday looks pretty good once again, with a mostly sunny sky and mainly dry weather. It’ll be a little cooler than average, with highs in the lower half of the 60s and a noticeable breeze out of the west/northwest once again.

The weekend starts off great! Saturday will see a mostly sunny sky, and despite a cool start to the day, we’ll warm into the lower 70s. It will be the winner of the weekend, and great for any outdoor fall activities. Then our attention turns to Isaias, which will be moving through the Gulf Coast states by Friday and Saturday, then quickly up through the Ohio Valley on Sunday. We expect some of this remnant tropical moisture to make it into WNY by Sunday late afternoon or evening. So at this point, the clouds will win out on Sunday, but we should at least start the day off dry.

On the plus side, the faster movement of the storm means the showers will get out of here faster, with just a few showers lingering on Monday. We’ll then be tracking a fairly strong cold front on Tuesday of next week, which will drop our temperatures into the lower 50s for highs, and kick up the wind, along with the return of some rain.
