SODUS POINT, N.Y. — Final repairs are underway this week on the Great Sodus Bay East Breakwater, with crews working to finish a two-year, $6.7 million project.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says workers are repairing more than 1,600 feet of the breakwater with new stone and fabric to prevent movement.
The project will return the structure to seven feet above the lowest water level and keep marine traffic moving safely.
Repairs started in 2025. Full completion is expected this summer.
