Faculty at Cornell University preparing for no-confidence vote against administration

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSTM) — Cornell University faculty are now moving toward a no-confidence vote against the university administration’s handling of the 2024 alleged gang rape case.

News10NBC’s Syracuse affiliate reports that faculty representatives said a resolution was submitted Monday evening to a university faculty committee.

The committee will review it before it goes to the full faculty senate on Oct. 14. If passed, the resolution would formally declare that faculty have lost confidence in the university administration.

This comes after hundreds of Cornell students and faculty gathered to protest the university’s handling of the allegations, and called for changes to the university’s policies and response to sexual assault.
