Event aims to help Rochester students with applying for college financial aid

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Students in the Rochester City School District can get help on Thursday, April 9, with applying for financial aid for college or a trade school.

FAFSA Fest takes place at the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center on 161 Chestnut Street. It runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to complete their application for the federal FAFSA program or the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).

Experts from the Rochester Education Foundation and other groups will be there to help families understand their financial aid offer letter, scholarship opportunities, banking, and more. Assistance will be available in English and Spanish. In addition, students can meet with representatives from local colleges.
