Driver hospitalized, ticketed after crash at Ford, Exchange

ROCHESTER. N.Y. — A driver was ticketed and hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash Monday night in the area of Ford Street and Exchange Boulevard.

Rochester Police say a black sedan was headed north on Exchange Boulevard at about 8:33 p.m. when it ran a red light at the intersection and hit a gray sedan. The driver and sole occupant of the gray car got out moments before it burst into flames. The Rochester Fire Department put out the fire.

The driver of the gray sedan, a 34-year-old Greece resident, was treated at the scene for a minor hand injury. The driver of the black sedan, a 55-year-old Rochester man, was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for lower body pain and ticketed with failing to stop at a red light. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
