ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A woman is accused of drunk driving after her car slammed into the guide rail on the Inner Loop on Friday morning.
New York State Police say she was driving on University Avenue when the car left the road, hit a curb, and ended up on the westbound Inner Loop near East Main Street. News10NBC’s photojournalist saw heavy damage to the front of the car and the guide rail.
Troopers and Rochester Police responded to the crash around 2:20 a.m. State Police say the driver, 22, and a passenger, 25, were both injured. An ambulance took them to Strong Memorial Hospital and they are expected to recover.
The driver was charged with DWI after she was released from the hospital. She was given an appearance ticket and released to a “sober third party.”
