PENN YAN, N.Y. — On Friday, around 11: 40 a.m., the Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-car crash with someone trapped on State Route 14A, north of the Village of Penn Yan.
Investigators say one driver was traveling north on State Route 14A when his vehicle veered into the southbound lane, crashing into a female driver.
The male driver then drove off the roadway, crashing into a tree, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man was taken out of his car by the Penn Yan Fire Department, leading to both drivers being taken by helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene is under investigation, and deputies say charges are pending.
We called the hospital to find out the condition of the two drivers, and we were told that their conditions are satisfactory.
