WARSAW, N.Y. — Some homes were evacuated in the Village of Warsaw early Friday morning after Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies say a bomb threat note was found on a traffic cone.
Deputies say at around 1:40 a.m. Friday, they found a bomb threat note on a traffic cone that was left in the middle of the intersection on Hermitage Road at Route 20A.
After finding the note, deputies say they responded to a home on North Main Street in Warsaw, where a bomb was described to be under a car at the home. Deputies say no explosive devices were found after an initial inspection.
Out of an abundance of caution, deputies say the State Police Bomb Disposal Unit was called, and neighboring homes were evacuated.
Following a full inspection of the scene, deputies say no explosives were found, and the area was declared safe.
