PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Three people, including two teens, have been arrested after Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say they stole a Kia.
On Wednesday, deputies say they got a report just before 1:30 p.m. that a Kia was stolen from a parking lot on Monroe Avenue in the Town of Pittsford.
After getting information from the owner of the car, deputies say they found the car at around 3 p.m. in the City of Rochester. They say they tried to stop the car, but the driver didn’t stop and led police on a pursuit in the city.
Deputies say after a few minutes, they lost sight of the car. They say they continued to search the area and just before 3:30 p.m. they found the car in a parking lot off Ward Street in Rochester.
The Kia was found with nobody in it, and deputies say they used camera footage to confirm four suspects ran from the car after it was parked.
Deputies say moments later, they saw the three suspects get into an SUV as passengers and tried to leave. They say they were able to conduct a traffic stop, and took the three suspects into custody.
The fourth suspect remains outstanding, according to deputies. After interviews, a 16-year-old, Paolina Serrano-Rodriguez, 18, and Radayzel Torres, 20, were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
Torres and Serrano-Rodriguez are set to be arraigned in Monroe County CAP Court. The 16-year-old was released to her family with an appearance ticket.
