FAIRPORT, N.Y. — Barranco’s Clothing Store on North Main Street in Fairport is clearing out a collection of vintage children’s shoes and men’s jackets that have been in the store for decades.

The business started 126 years ago and still has original boxes, tags and prices from the 1960s. Charlie Barranco, who ran the store, died two weeks ago at age 99, and his family decided the vintage clothing needs to go before it ends up in a landfill.
“(My father) said there’s always a buyer out there you just have to find them. So right now I’m praying that I find that buyer or people that are interested in buying some of this old merchandise that has great value to my dad and I,” Monica Barranco said.
The deadline to buy the vintage clothing is Saturday. Visitors to the store can also see Charlie Barranco’s collection of local newspapers from major events in the past 100 years, including the D&C and Times-Union editions from D-Day and V-J Day.
