Crews help person escape from fire at vacant house on Pierpont Street

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester firefighters helped a person escape from a house fire on Monday morning on Pierpont Street near Driving Park Avenue.

The Rochester Fire Department says the two-story house is vacant and no one was hurt in the fire. Crews had to remove boards from windows and doors to get inside.

The fire started around 8:40 a.m. and it took just under 20 minutes to put out the fire, using two hose lines. While searching the house, crews found the person inside.

RFD is still investigating the cause of the fire.
