This marks their first entry into New York. Public records show Waterview Heights has faced numerous complaints from residents. They reported being left in unsanitary conditions for hours. Inspection reports have highlighted chronic understaffing issues.

Last fall, the New York State Department of Health required a manager to oversee the facility and report directly to the department. A spokesman for Waterview, Jeffrey Yeh, said, “It’s coming back where it needs to be and I can only hope that it will advance even further with Advanced Healthcare operating this facility.”
Advanced Healthcare operates 25 facilities nationwide and will assume control of all but one of the nursing homes owned by The Grand. The Grand owns 22 facilities in New York, 77% of which have received low ratings of one or two stars on Medicare’s Care Compare website.
Waterview Heights has no rating on the website “due to a history of quality issues,” and has been cited for abuse. In contrast, 79% of Advanced Healthcare’s facilities have received the highest rating of five stars, with 96% rated four or five stars. “I have to say its opposite of what we’re seeing with the grand with it being one or two star.” Said Yeh.
“I agree with that. You guys also asked for change. Change is coming.” He adds.
News10NBC has reached out to the leaders of Advanced Health Care by phone and email and have not heard back yet.
In addition to Waterview Heights, they will also take over the Rochester Community Nursing and Rehabilitation, which has a one-star rating.
