City of Rochester announces business training program to support minority business owners

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester’s Office of Financial Empowerment announced the start of a second cohort of its Prepare to Prosper Business Academy by welcoming 20 city entrepreneurs. It aims to benefit minority business owners in Rochester.

The Prepare to Prosper Program pushes to close the racial wealth gap in Rochester through education, coaching, and networking.

The eight-month program also provides entrepreneurs with financial management, marketing, and bookkeeping.

Mayor Malik Evans said, “By bringing business owners together with the knowledge, connections, and guidance they need, we’re helping Rochester entrepreneurs grow and strengthen our local economy.”
