CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — An 86-year-old man is facing charges after Canandaigua Police say he hit an officer with a metal bike pump and spit on them.
David Nesbitt is charged with harassment in the second degree. Police say on May 31, officers responded to Wilcox Lane for a report of a disturbance. According to police, it was reported that Nesbitt tried to enter a neighboring apartment.
Police say while interviewing Nesbitt, he picked up a metal bike pump and hit an officer on the forearm. Police also say Nesbitt resisted arrest and started spitting on the officer.
Nesbitt was released on an appearance ticket and is due in court at a later date.
