ALBION, N.Y. — A group of eight undocumented immigrants were arrested on Thursday on a solar farm. Seven of them are from Venezuela, one is from Jamaica, and all of them are men. One has a criminal record.
Sources at Customs and Border Patrol tell News10NBC the men arrested were working on a solar farm project on Riches Corners Road in Albion. They’ve been taken to Rochester and Buffalo Customs and Border Patrol stations for processing, then they’ll be turned over to ICE for deportation.
Sources at Customs and Border Patrol tell us they went to that location after getting a tip.
Statement from Customs and Border Patrol
Mike Niezgoda with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sent News10NBC the following statement about the arrests:
“On July 30, agents from U.S. Border Patrol and ICE conducted an immigration enforcement operation after receiving information through an ICE tipline regarding illegal aliens working in Albion, NY. Eight illegal aliens were arrested and processed for removal.”
