York school district voters approve $9.9M capital project

YORK, N.Y. — Voters in the York Central School District in Livingston County overwhelmingly approved the district’s capital-project proposal, with 202 “yes” votes to 28 opposed.

The $9,978,000 project — which district officials said would have no additional tax impact for residents, with funding coming from state building aid and retiring debt — will fund several upgrades in the district, including:

— Upgrades to classrooms, gyms, auditorium and pool

— Modernization of HVAC systems for better energy efficiency

— Restoring the historical exterior front doors and adding a ramp

— Replacing aging parking areas, fencing, tennis courts, exterior lightning and the press box
