ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Four people are facing charges after Rochester Police say they recovered loaded handguns after a traffic stop on the city’s northeast side.
Rochester Police say they stopped a Subaru for violating vehicle and traffic laws at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say the car turned onto Messina Street, where four people got out of the car.
During investigations, police say they saw one of them, 18-year-old Jayden Hamilton, was trying to hide a handgun along his leg. He was detained, and police recovered a handgun loaded with 19 rounds.
Police say they also recovered a Glock, loaded with 13 rounds. All four people in the car were detained.
Hamilton and the others were all charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees; the others charged are:
- Valentino Nelson, 18
- Luis Vargas, 19
- George Strickland, 18
Additionally, Strickland was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
All four were brought to the Monroe County Jail.
