ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Championship boxing is making a comeback at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.
United and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County, along with Savage Life Promotions, announced the first major professional boxing event in Rochester in decades Thursday afternoon. Many of the fighters who will be participating were at the announcement.
Organizers say the event celebrates Rochester’s legacy as one of America’s premier fight cities.
“Why not now — why not bring it back — why not give back Rochester its proud tradition — where we used to be for decades?” an organizer said.
Championship boxing returns to the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, April 25. Tickets are on sale now.
