Rochester Amerks player wins fastest skater during 2026 AHL All-Star Skills Competition

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Forward Konsta Helenuis from the Rochester Americans won the CCM Fastest Skater event during the 2026 AHL All-Star Skills Competition Tuesday.

Helenuis was picked alongside Amerks forward Isak Rosén and defenseman Zac Jones for the annual AHL All-Star Classic that takes place Feb. 10-11.

In the fastest skater event, Helenius had a time of 13.770 seconds.

During the pass and score challenge, Jones scored two goals and had an assist.

This is the second year in a row a trio of Amerks players were sent to the event. Rochester is also one of only five teams to have three players picked for the event.

The 2026 AHL All-Star Classic features the top talent in the American Hockey League (AHL). On Tuesday, All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions competed against the two Western Conference divisions in seven skill events, including hardest shot, fastest skater, and accuracy shooting.

An AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony took place Wednesday afternoon. The AHL All-Star Challenge will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesday. This challenge is a round-robin tournament with the league’s four divisions played at 3-on-3.

The event can be watched on the NHL Network, AHLTV on FloHockey, and on FloHockey’s social media platforms.
