ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Golisano Children’s Hospital celebrated a significant milestone as Spirit Halloween donated more than $1 million to the hospital’s child life program. The team marked the occasion with a special check presentation in the hospital lobby.
Since 2008, local Spirit Halloween stores have raised money through their Spirit of Children campaign to bring comfort to kids during their hospital stays.
“We rely heavily on the community to help support our programing,” said Wendy Lane, child life program manager. “These funds that we received today help provide staffing support to keep our playrooms and our play decks like you see behind me open. ”
Lane also added it is important to keep the program open seven days a week. This year’s donation of nearly $100,000 pushed the total contributions to seven figures.
